Black Earth
Submitted by: Francie Nolde
We love having Black Earth Composting at the Transfer Station because we no longer have smelly trash at home. Grocery stores sell certifiable compostable bags that go into the freezer until dump day (no smell). Since we eat a lot of fish and shellfish, this is a perfect solution for their skins and shells. And we love that food waste is converted into organic compost that we can buy at Ace Hardware. Also happy the weight of solid trash is reduced to save the Town money.
